Today we discovered capped brood, which means the queen is laying and the bees will be multiplying! We added some raw sugar for them and will check again in a couple weeks. Here's a little clip from our Facebook page!

March 9, 2021 - First hive to survive the winter!
They're ALIVE! Today I peeked and the bees made it through the winter...the first time this has happened since I started beekeeping in 2016! Woohoo! Super excited...we've both really wanted to try splitting a hive, so now the goal is to ensure this colony stays healthy and builds up their numbers enough to give it a try this spring!
